What we're looking for

We are looking for someone to support and improve our utility data collection infrastructure. This will involve monitoring our data importing processes to ensure they are functioning as expected, identify when they are not, and troubleshoot the causes for failure. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the data we import from utilities and provide our clients is correct, consistent, complete and up to date. As we expand our national footprint the candidate will need to manage the creation of data importers for new utilities, including mapping how to collect data, working closely with software engineers on build-out, and running quality assurance on finished importers to ensure data accuracy. The candidate will serve as the intermediary between the sales/customer service team and the software engineers, balancing the needs of each team to match importer development and improvement with company-wide priorities.

An understanding of utility data and vocabulary is helpful, but not required.

The company is in a high growth phase and this is an exciting junior- level position with great opportunities for advancement.

We are open to local (Boston) candidates as well as those working out of home offices.

Our ideal candidate

You are detail-oriented, have an analytical mindset, keep well- organized records, and can make a large Excel spreadsheet do your bidding in minutes.
You work well independently and can quickly switch to working in a team when needed.
You are comfortable interacting with both technical and non- technical team members.
You are a self-starter and highly motivated.
You are able to readily learn new software.
You adapt to changing systems and workloads, are creative and flexible, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
You have a college degree in an analytical field (engineering, finance, economics, etc).
You are a nice person.

What you'll get to work on

You'll make sure that our data importers are doing their thing and doing it well.
Things you might do on a typical day:
Monitor failures in our utility data importing processes and investigate what is causing them.
Provide instructions to the software developers on how to fix data errors.
Assess a client's account for data accuracy and completeness.
Create data mapping for a new utility company we want to add support for, or update data mapping for a supported utility when needed.
Ensure that new code from the software developers is importing the data as desired.
Support a client manager in understanding what kind of data we can get from a utility company.

Competitive salary, great benefits, and a flexible environment

We treat our employees well.
Health and dental insurance, generous vacation, commuter benefits, professional development, and more.

Work from wherever you’d like.
